Praktijkatelier De Zwarte Haan is a place where art, energy, history and craftsmanship come together.
Eric translates his love for people, animals, landscapes and townscapes into expressive works of art. Hanneke translates power places into tangible products, such as remedies, sprays, oil blends, books and card decks.
The place itself also inspires us. De Zwarte Haan is located in a monumental stepped-gable house in Aardenburg, the oldest town in Zeeland. The rich history of this area — from Roman traces to the atmosphere of the 17th century — forms a special source of inspiration for our work.
We are inspired by ancient herbs, scents, stories, energies and crafts. We translate these into art, products, workshops and encounters.
We are happy to tell you more about it, in scent and colour, when you visit us.

Eric and Hanneke live and work in De Zwarte Haan, together with their dog Blue.
Eric is an artist who creates portraits of people and animals. He enjoys working with charcoal and oil paint. He gives workshops in which observation, feeling and creativity are central.
Hanneke works as a therapist, coach and energetic guide. In her work, she brings together personal development, energy work, aromatherapy, New Earth Frequencies and personal blueprints based on, among other things, Maya astrology. She also creates remedies, sprays, oil blends and books with card decks.
At De Zwarte Haan, you can see, feel, smell and try her products. You are also welcome to book a consultation, reading or workshop with her.
Together, we bring our own worlds together in one practice atelier: art, energy, scent, creativity and connection.

During our monthly open atelier days, I invite you to join short, accessible drop-in workshops lasting about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Portrait Drawing Course
Have you always wanted to learn how to draw a portrait?
Perhaps you have heard yourself say:
“I would love to be able to do that too, but I can’t draw at all.”
This course is designed specifically for those people!
You do not need any drawing experience. During this 10-part course, you will learn step by step how to build a realistic portrait.
We start with the basics and work our way up to a portrait you can look at with pride.

Eric van Leeuwen is an artist who creates portraits of people and animals — using pencil, charcoal and paint. His goal: to capture the personality of a person or the character of an animal so precisely that the work truly comes alive. Hanneke guides individuals and organisations looking for balance, direction and self-insight. She works with a broad mix of methods — from energy work and mindfulness to DISC and the Maya Blueprint — always tailored to the person or team. Her website gives a full overview of her approach, training programmes and workshops.
The New Earth Frequencies are thirteen core energies that represent the evolution of human consciousness. Hanneke has translated them into tangible forms: remedies, aura sprays, oil blends, gemstones, music and a book with card set. For anyone who wants to live lighter and understand more deeply what drives them.

Every first weekend of the month, we hold an open studio on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. You are welcome to drop in and have a look around.
You can also visit by appointment outside of opening hours, so feel free to contact us!
